Day One
It’s my first day working with the Shapeshifters sculpture group. For my first piece I’m going to attempt a swimming polar bear. I reduce the stone to a basic shape and practice some basic chiselling techniques. The nylon mallet takes a little getting used to. The stone is Hopton Wood limestone from a quarry in Derbyshire.
