Day Eight
Today I plan to make a base for my sculpture. I grab a small piece of slate from the garden centre worth £4. I mark up the dimensions on paper and get to work chiselling the uneven surface flat. I soon realise this slate is not right for the job, it shears too easily, I need to drill into it and I’m concerned it will crack. I need a better quality slate.
